Cael’s Collection – Cedar Rapids Professional Baseball Alumni Baseball Cards

The alumni card of the day is a 1964 Topps card of Dick Tracewski. Tracewski was a member of the 1956 Cedar Rapids Raiders team that finished with a mark of 44-76 under manager George Scherger. Tracewski hit .259 with 2 HR in 55 games for Cedar Rapids.
Dick Tracewski hit .213 with 8 HR and 91 RBI during his 8 year MLB career playing for the Dodgers and the Tigers. Tracewski was a member of the World Series Championship teams in 1963 (Dodgers), 1965 (Dodgers) and 1968 (Tigers).

Mark Trumbo (2006-07) hit .220 with 13 HR and 59 RBI for the 2006 Kernels squad that finished 65-74 under manager Bobby Magallanes. He returned to Cedar Rapids for the 2007 season where he posted a .272 batting average along with 14 HR and 76 RBI as the Kernels made the playoffs with 78-61 record under manager Ever Magallanes.
Mark Trumbo (2006-07) made his MLB debut on 9/11/10 and collected his first MLB hit and two RBI as the Angels defeated the Rangers 6-2 on 10/3/10.

The alumni card of the day is a 1973 Topps card of Joe Hague. Hague hit .251 with 9 HR and 24 doubles in 119 games for the 1966 Cedar Rapid Cardinals squad. The team finished 81-40 in 1st place during the regular season under manager Ron Plaza. The Cedar Rapids Cardinals fell to Fox Cities 2 games to 1 in the Championship Series.
Joe Hague hit .239 with 40 HR and 163 RBI during his six year MLB career playing for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds.
