Angels promote Andrew Taylor (2009), set to be 388th Cedar Rapids player to make MLB debut

Andrew Taylor (2009) was promoted from Salt Lake (AAA) to join the Los Angeles Angels as they play the Seattle Mariners this afternoon. Andrew Taylor posted a 3-0 record with a 1.23 E.R.A. in 40 games for Cedar Rapids in 2009. Taylor struck out 83 batters in 51 1/3 innings of work. He is the sixth player to reach the majors from the 2009 Kernels squad. Cedar Rapids finished with a 78-60 record under manager Bill Mosiello defeating the Peoria Chiefs in the opening round of the playoffs before losing in the semifinals to the Burlington Bees.

Andrew Taylor had a 2-4 with a 4.61 E.R.A. in 37 games with the Arkansas Travelers (AA) in 2012. Taylor posted a 1-0 record with a 3.50 E.R.A. for the Salt Lake Bees in 16 games after being promoted to AAA this year.

Tyler Skaggs (2010) became the 387th Cedar Rapids Professional Baseball alumni to make his MLB debut when he debuted with the Diamondbacks on August 22, 2012.
