This date in Kernels history – September 12, 2009 – Christian Scholl

On September 12, 2009 Christian Scholl pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. Scholl struck out seven batters while allowing one walk as the Cedar Rapids Kernels fell to the Burlington Bees 3-2 in the Midwest League playoffs semifinals.

Christian Scholl posted a 3-2 record with a 3.42 E.R.A in 45 games for the 2009 Cedar Rapids Kernels. He struck out 90 batters in 84 1/3 innings of work. The 2009 Kernels squad finished with a 78-60 record under manager Bill Mosiello defeating the Peoria Chiefs in the opening round of the playoffs before losing in the semifinals to the Burlington Bees.

Christian Scholl compiled a 1-2 record with a 6.52 E.R.A. in 33 games for the Arkansas Travelers in 2012. Scholl struck out 37 batters in 40 innings of work.

This is my 8th season (2005-present) working as the stadium operations guy here with the Cedar Rapids Kernels. I will be reminiscing the best performances by the Kernels during my tenure to add to my This Date in Kernels Alumni History features this year.
