Tyler Kehrer rejoins Kernels

The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that LHP Tyler Kehrer will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training and that RHP Kevin Johnson has been promoted to Inland Empire. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the moves on Tuesday.

The Angels selected Kehrer, 23, in the Supplemental first-round of the 2009 Free Agent Draft with the 48th overall pick out of Eastern Illinois University. He spent 2010 with the Kernels where he posted a 6-5 record and 4.56 ERA in 27 games (14 starts) with four save. In 116.1 IP, he allowed 106 hits and 72 runs (59 earned) with 70 walks and 108 strikeouts.
