On August 27, 1966, Dick Kelley (Cedar Rapids Braves – 1959, 1961) pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 3-0 win over the New York Mets. Kelley struck out six batters while allowing two hits and two walks.

In 1961, Kelley posted a record of 15-5 with a 2.42 ERA in 24 starts as the team finished in 2nd place with a mark of 73-57 under manager James Brown.
