On September 5, 1988, Scott Terry (Cedar Rapids Reds – 1981-82) worked seven innings while allowing two earned runs to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 6-2 win over the Montreal Expos at Busch Stadium. Terry struck out five batters while allowing four hits and one walk.
Scott Terry posted a 24-28 mark with a 3.73 ERA and 8 saves during his six year MLB career playing for the Reds and Cardinals.
Scott Terry played in Cedar Rapids as an outfielder prior to being converted to a pitcher during the 1981 and 1982 seasons. Terry .194 with five HR and 31 RBI in 1981 as the Reds were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Quad Cities and finished 65-68 under manager Randy Davidson. He returned in 1982 to hit .254 with 12 HR and 54 RBI in 108 games as the 1982 Cedar Rapids Reds. The squad finished 61-79 under the guidance of manager Randy Davidson.
