Patrick Corbin (2010) to join Diamondbacks in Miami on Monday
Patrick Corbin (2010) was promoted from Mobile (AA) to join the Diamondbacks in Miami on Monday to make his first big league start against the Miami Marlins. Corbin posted a 8-0 record with a 3.86 E.R.A in 9 starts for the 2010 Cedar Rapids Kernels. He struck out 42 batters in 58 1/3 innings of work. Cedar Rapids finished the season with a 82-56 record under manager Bill Mosiello in 2010. The Kernels lost to Clinton in the first round of the Midwest League Playoffs.
Patrick Corbin was traded to the Diamondbacks along with Rafael Rodriguez (2003-05) and Tyler Skaggs (2010) in the Dan Haren trade. Corbin was 2-0 with a 1.87 E.R.A. in four starts for Mobile this season.
David Carpenter (2010) became the 379th Cedar Rapids Professional Baseball alumni to make his MLB debut earlier this month with the Angels. Patrick Corbin is set to become the 380th player to play in Cedar Rapids and play in the big leagues.
