On July 11, 1985, Ron Robinson (Cedar Rapids Reds – 1981) led the Cincinnati Reds to a 2-0 win over the Montreal Expos working 7 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out six batters to earn the win at Riverfront Stadium. Robinson allowed six hits and zero walks in the game.

Ron Robinson posted a 48-39 mark with a 3.63 ERA in 9 MLB seasons playing for the Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Ron Robinson was a member of the 1981 Cedar Rapids Reds team that finished with a record of 65-68 under manager Randy Davidson. The Reds lost in the first round of the Midwest League playoffs to the Quad City squad. Robinson went 10-8 with a 2.24 ERA in 24 starts for the Cedar Rapids Reds.
