On August 15, 2009, Roberto Lopez went 3-4 at the plate with a HR, three RBI, walked, stole a base and scored a run as the Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Clinton Lumberkings 6-2.

Roberto Lopez hit .271 with 18 doubles, 11 HR and 67 RBI in 94 games for the 2009 Kernels squad. The Kernels finished with a 78-60 record under manager Bill Mosiello defeating the Peoria Chiefs in the opening round of the playoffs before losing in the semifinals to the Burlington Bees.

Roberto Lopez hit .266 with 31 doubles, 12 HR and 32 RBI between Arkansas (AA) and Salt Lake (AAA) in 2011. Lopez has hit .264 with 33 doubles, 12 HR and 70 RBI in 117 games playing for the Arkansas Travelers in 2012.

This is my 8th season (2005-present) working as the stadium operations guy here with the Cedar Rapids Kernels. I will be reminiscing the best performances by the Kernels during my tenure to add to my This Date in Kernels Alumni History features this year.
