On September 8, 2010, Jose Jimenez went 2-3 at the plate with a HR, two RBI, a walk and scored a run as the Cedar Rapids Kernels defeated the Clinton Lumberkings 3-2 in game one of the best-of-three opening round of the Midwest League playoffs. Cedar Rapids finished the season with a 82-56 record under manager Bill Mosiello. The Kernels lost to Clinton in the first round of the Midwest League Playoffs.

Jose Jimenez hit .245 with 15 doubles, 7 HR, 42 RBI and stole 50 bases in 88 games during the 2010 season for the Kernels. Jimenez hit .248 with 6 doubles, 3 HR and 14 RBI in 62 games playing for the Inland Empire 66ers in 2012.

This is my 8th season (2005-present) working as the stadium operations guy here with the Cedar Rapids Kernels. I will be reminiscing the best performances by the Kernels during my tenure to add to my This Date in Kernels Alumni History features this year.
